Worst thing I hate, is when I notice I’m low on gloves or WD-40, which I buy by the gallon, or red cap Brake Kleen, or anything else. Order it and when going to put away and find an extra case of Brake Kleen or a case of gloves. Just came home with a 5 gallon pail of hydraulic fluid, the good stuff, to put it away and found an unopened pail in the storage room. Called my brother, who had used my fluid for something and said he was going to replace it. Asked if he had bought it and dropped it off, without me knowing. Nope! WTH.

Truck Shop said: A tool truck is a hangout for Ravens/Crows, then fly back to nest with shinny trinkets. Click to expand... I am pretty sure a crow or raven packed off a little 1/4 ratchet and socket from where I was working on the excavator, changing a busted off grease fitting. I learned my lesson.

A long time ago….i was under my truck laying on a piece of cardboard and my 9/16 wrench just was gone. I got a spare and finished what I was doing. A few repairs later, I started to notice a pattern, tools would disappear when I was under the truck. I often found wrenches out in the yard. One day, one of my dogs grabbed the wrench I put down and took it about 20 feet away. I think she was jealous. An old mechanic friend at work retired and I picked up his old snap on box with some stuff in it for a good price. 10 yrs later, his health was failing and he he gave/sold me a bunch of stuff. His kids didn’t want/need anything he had as they were well outfitted themselves. I still use some the craftsman sockets and wrenches that I bought when I was a teenager.

I am trying to figure out how to organize my tools. Has anyone figured out a good way to do it . I thought about putting a couple boxes on top of the Mac box . Putting metric in one SAE in the other. 1/4,3/8 sockets with some ratchets extensions some wrenches then putting 1/2 drive sockets mm and sae stuff in the big mac box along with other stuff . Then using the box set up I built to store fabrication tools clamps measuring tools . Its just hard to figure out and i maybe over looking a good way to do things.

Pretty sure I don't want the details, but I wouldn't loan this guy any tools whatsoever: Viewer discretion advised. Too old to be AI. If you have time to kill and can find your way around you tube- try this guy. Don’t blame me if you loose half a day watching his videos.

I have been buying the Ernst tool organizers little by little. I like them and made in the USA.

Was helping a friend repair and update a small barn, had my worm drive saw and good old hammer and nails, working on all the stuff that needed help, go to grab the saw and its gone. well heck... thought I set it right here.. there's the unplugged extension cord... Damned Percheron snuck up somehow, snatched the saw and carried it clear across the field... and he knew it too!

Temp inside the shop would hit the same ambient as outside, 100* plus. So the best place to be while waiting for the next truck to roll in was as close to the floor as possible, and while there it was time to rest in the Phart Sack aka a bed.

I’ve seen some very nice engine room tool boards on ships, ferries & fishing boats. I’m not talking about Homeless Despot peg board crap that wastes an entire usable space. I’m talking high quality, intelligent designed wall storage that uses every precious square inch of a space and ingeniously placed hooks that even work on a rolling vessel. I’ll try and find some pictures

Pepper was the other end of the horse spectrum, a standard bred pony a few hands higher than a Shetland pony. He had a huge personality, he would follow you around and put his chin on your shoulder and open up his mouth and smile, generally bug you. Harold cut firewood for a hobby and had some Stihl O40 to 046 sized saws with 24~28 bars. Pepper would grab the chainsaw when you were not looking and run across the 1 acre woodlot and then stomp his foot and whinny. Harold would go to the nearby barn, grab the whip and crack it. Pepper would put the (chainsaw, your coat, hat, whatever he had grabbed ) down. It was a big game.

Every group had a tool board that was very handy to look at the end of the day to see if all the tools were put back. The place i work has 3 shops were they have some tools in boxes . If it was up to me they everyone would have there own tools or the shops would have tool boards .

Wrenches with socket sets and small wrenches and plier-ey stuff in toolboxes. Wall of more specialized toolboxes and parts. Built in brick shiitehaus workbench with nifty loops. ever present grease gun. burn through 10 tubes every two days or so. Not pictured, a steel cabinet full of all the filters needed for the 6 bolted down diesels, the handful of welders, the Honda 15's etc. 40 KW genset with angle iron and round rod glove rack. Company bought those white mule cotton gloves by the brick, and you put them in front of that radiator with clothespins. Used oil barrels. Ready filled 2.5 and gallons of engine oil and hydraulic.
