That looks incredibly similar Liebherrs coupler. On liebherr, we used to have to "help" the pins back into the coupler. Sticky clay and lack of grease was a big cause.

Click to expand... To clarify, mine has the "Connect" coupler on the left of the diagram. It more often has trouble retracting when there is no attachment on it. I can see the hoses move a little when I activate the switch, so I know it's getting some pressure to try to release, but maybe the spool isn't moving fully so the oil isn't being released on the return side. Gauges would allow me to test pressure on each side and hopefully pinpoint the restriction.

The biggest problem with any test gauge or meter is if everything isnt just perfect is it right ???

  12. funwithfuelSenior Member#32

Yes sir, it's what 90% of the industry is using. The kit you're eyeing up will definitely get you measuring. Honestly, just the fittings alone used to cost twice the price of that kit. While i have no experience with the mfr, it 'looks like' it will serve your needs.

Look at it this way, the price of the kit is cheaper than an hourly shop rate. How much to get a tech out to your place to check your pressures? Pretty much a no-brainer. You will be using it more than you think once you own it.

On the gauge thing, I’m pretty fond of digitals for setting pumps and valves. I have a $600 Parker and a $100 xzt off amazon. They have read exactly the same from 10psi to over 5,000 psi if zero’d properly first. I don’t have a vevor but for the cheap knockoff stuff, they’re usually at least decent. Definitely recommend the xzt though as far as digitals go. I don’t think I’d spend the money on a Parker again.

The pilot test procedure does not specify the oil temperature, though it does for other tests. So I figured I'd test it at different ambient temps to see if the pressure was off when it gives the most trouble. First test was about 40°F: Second was about 5°F: Both appear to be within spec 35 bar (+1, -3). The problem appears to be with all functions. Here is a video showing the pilot valves:

Can you get new seals for the pilot valves?

mekanik said: Can you get new seals for the pilot valves? Click to expand... I have no idea. Do you think the seals are making them sticky?

  18. mekanikSenior Member#38

That would be my first thought. Maybe try a couple drops of oil on the valves first.

I don't understand much about pilot systems but I assumed that there would be enough pressure in the system to return the valve immediately when the joystick is not pushing on it.
