Looking for some help with an ASV RT30 skid steer. The bucket willk raise and lower, but it has no travel. Changed all relays. We're having a hard time finding info on this equipment. Wiring schematics are unreadable. Please help if you can. Thank you!
ASV RT 30 HAS NO TRAVEL

upliftservicesNew Member#1 Arny LJunior Member#2 Check your seat belt saftey switch, or seat occupant switch, lap bar saftey switch. I believe those will prevent movement. Door saftey switch will prevent bucket and boom from operating if faulty, or mis adjusted, and obviously yours is working. If all those check out, look for damage on pilot control valve wiring, located under your feet. You have to remove floor foot plate to gain access.
upliftservicesNew Member#3 Thank you for the help. We replaced the pilot valve and checked continuity on wiring, but still has no travel and has intermittent bucket lift lower. Any further help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
OMFNew Member#4 Have you checked the grounding wires on the bottom of the hydraulic tank? There's a group of them on the left side (as your sitting in the seat) and are difficult to reach. Mine were loose and covered in oil and mud which didn't provide a grounding source. Have a look at them.
Arny LJunior Member#5 Problem 3 Machine starts but hydraulics will not operate. Probable cause 1. Lap bar must be in down position, operator must be seated in seat, and front door (if installed) must be closed. 2. Safety fuse blown. 3. Faulty operator presence switch. a) Test continuity through seat, lap bar, and door switch. Adjust or replace as necessary. Lap bar and door switch are magnetic switches and should be adjusted to approximately 1/16 inch away from steel pickup bracket. 4. Poor ground (check ground wires on bottom left rear side of hydraulic reservoir). 5. Safety relay is not activating. 6. Faulty safety solenoid or safety solenoid spool. Copied from operators manual
upliftservicesNew Member#6 Cleaning the grounds seemed to help bucket operate consistently, but still has no travel. Not sure where safety solenoid or spool is located.
Arny LJunior Member#7 Look at this wiring diagram, should be similar to yours
OMFNew Member#8 Any luck with this? Below the floor plate and on top of the crossmember is the pilot block. There are two solenoid valves there, one for the travel side hydraulics or left joystick, and one for the loader side hydraulics or the right side joystick. Have you confirmed that both of these valves have proper power supplied and that they are functioning properly? Using the schematics that Arny L supplied, you can easily follow the power supply. I used a computer and blew them up for easy reading.
upliftservicesNew Member#9 Unfortunately, we have not been able to get the travel working. Changed the Pilot valve and the lift/lower is now working consistently, but still no travel. I think we tested the electrical part completely as far as I know. Going to check charge pressure. I’m out of ideas.
Arny LJunior Member#10 What year is your machine?

Arny LJunior Member#12 I think checking charge pressure is probably a good step, at this point, just to eliminate it as a problem. Should be in the 340 to 380psi range, but you can call ASV, to verify. Hot and wide open throttle. The port for testing used to be in the pilot block, but I think it was moved to the engine compartment on newer models.

upliftservicesNew Member#15 We tested the charge pressure and it looks like it's in the 300 range. When you move the joystick to engage drive pressure it drops to zero. A guy I spoke with over the weekend said it could be the main tandem pump. Does anyone have any fedback on that? I think I'm giving up on this. Just not familiar enough with ASV Skid Steers and have way more time than I could ever bill for.
Arny LJunior Member#16 You could check the charge pressure relief valves, they are on the left side of hydrostat.
Arny LJunior Member#17 Something in drive loop is losing pressure, could be drive motors, relief valve trash inside, or charge pump itself. Not sure if there is case drain on those drive motors, if there is, you can remove line, and see how much oil is bypassing. Should be small. pencil lead diameter. Have you checked hydraulic filter for metal particles?
upliftservicesNew Member#18 Hydraulic filters were the first thing I was looking to change, but I think the only filter is inside the tank. Nothing external I can see.
upliftservicesNew Member#19 Charge pressure relief valves are the plugs shown on the pic?
