Looks like 171-2212 circuit breaker for 105 amp alternator I would be checking wires for dead ground

im confused, the small piece in the picture goes to the circuit breaker? They had took all the wires offf that one breaker and just put them under one side, runs fine. yes im going to put it back correct with a new breaker but this is part of the breaker itself?? i have the breaker removed theres no broken pieces im quite certain this isnt part of the breaker.

It's the sensor for water in fuel. The black wire with the rubber connector plugs into the bottom of the fuel filter. Part number 1930618

If you are not using a genuine OEM Cat fuel filter/water separator or an exact equivalent (as opposed to a "will fit" element) the possibility exists that what you have on your machine may not have the connector in the bottom of the element for the water-in-fuel sensor.

i guess thats correct mine doesnt look like that, so should i replace the sensor and not use it, or disconnect and throw away?you can see a little bit of mine in one of the photos and plainly see theres no place to moiunt it. What should i do?

TylerD4C in post #10 clearly shows you where and how it mounts…if you look at his photo it’s obvious it attaches on the backside of the silver mount bracket…I see from your photos that you DO have a cat filter on your machine…worse case just plug in the connector on the bottom of the filter, plug in the gray connector on the harness and just zip tie the black-thingy up out of the way (assuming you don’t want to take the extra 20 minutes to loosen the bracket and mount it correctly) I A$$ume you have an idiot light on or something that caused you to dig deeper, or just got lucky and saw the burnt out piece…either way don’t overthink it, and wish you the best getting it going!

no place on the bottom to plug it in, i just noticed it bouncing around in that compartment and i dont like leaving things half done. Guess it wasnt hurting anyhting so just make sure it doesnt short out and zip tie it to something and forget about it huh? thanks for the advice mack

In post #6 in the photo it shows a black round dial piece with a center stud…in post #10 I see that threads into the bottom of the filter, THEN the black plug goes on that…does the bottom of your filter have a threaded hole? In your photos your hand is right in the way of seeing the filter(not your fault since you were focused on the fried black piece)… I do see in Nige attachment the filter number is different, but could be a superseded number comes into play too?? I do see that plug assembly is about $200 and while your there, probably worth swapping in a new filter…could get pricey for something that’s not giving you trouble…but I’m like you in the sense I don’t like unknown mystery items banging around, so good on you for given the machine a look over !

kentuckynet said: What should i do? Click to expand... See my post directly above that includes the parts list. Get the correct filter instead of a “will fit” and install the sensor and the water drain. Undetected water in the fuel can leave you with a big bill if something expensive in the fuel system takes a dump as a result of it.
