Used the 580C this past weekend and got the stumps out and the driveway re-graded - so nice to have power steering when the front bucket is full! Now I have a bit of breathing room now before the next project where I need the 'hoe, so on to the next project on the 580C... the fuel pump. Have manual, rebuild kit, Bristol wrench set, umbrella seal installation tool, have watched too many videos, practiced timing the engine/ pump etc... then I ran across this; Pump has been upgraded from DBGFCC 431 58AJ to 64AJ ( see https://www.stanadyne.com/dealerportal/ssi/english/Service Bulletin/335.pdf ) now, there are 2 questions, when it says the pump had been modified to 8 degrees advance movement - does that just refer to it's ability to advance more than a standard pump or that the pump timing before removal is somehow different than normally done? - I suspect the former but I want to make sure. 2nd question, do I need the Kit 22038 to do the rebuild? I suspect not as the only thing that may be replaceable in the rebuild is 12686, spring, outer advance and I can just keep the one that is in it now VS replacing it from the rebuild kit.... Am I on the right track or? As always, any comments and suggestions are welcome. Thx.

Dan StruthersNew Member#3 Hey all. I can't believe how time gets away. Family medical issues have kept me tied up for a year now but, thank the lord, things are better now. So, I am getting back to my projects. In reviewing everything, seems I have everything but a pilot tube and epoxy. Looking for a little help with this. 2 questions; -what type of epoxy is used for gluing in the pilot tube? -from another post, there are 2 pilot tubes, part # 16320 and 16323 depending on pump. I have a DBGFCC 431 58AJ pump. Anyone know which tube would be required for this? thx in advance for any assistance.
thepumpguyscSenior Member#4 16320 is correct. Speaking of illness’ I’m writing this from my hospital bed..

Dan StruthersNew Member#9 Sorry to hear you are in hospital - I have spent too long in them this past year with family. Thank you for responding though! I appreciate the info and have the tube on order. Any insight on epoxy type? JB weld for metal or any other recommendation? Thanks again and hope you are 100% soon!

stinky64Senior Member#14 Somebody was working too hard, nature's little way of telling you to take a vacation, preferably not in a hospital bed. Speedy recovery.
Welder DaveExpert#15 Hope everything is good with you pumpguy. That sounds eerily like what happened to my partner but she never got back up. Might be good to do an ultrasound on both legs checking for a deep vein thrombosis.
