Anybody have one, likes, dislikes, etc? Looking for something for cleanup type work, that I can pull on a small trailer...

Neighbour has one. He lent it to me along with his auger to put some post holes in my yard last summer. For what it is and what it costs it does ok. The aren't fast or precise by any means but I also only spent about 1.5 hours on it as well and most of it was running the auger. He had to make a few modifications and adjustments to it but other than that it plows his driveway just fine.

I had some problems with the stand on loader. The mini excavator from the same company has been great. I would likely go with a name brand if I needed them for businesses and working for clients. All in all, they were worth the money.

From what I hear, at least on the 36" model, with the high drive tracks, the rear most idler on the UC has had some bearing issues, but it appears that newer models have gone from a rubber(plastic) seal to a metal one. Also appears that there has been a different shield added to keep rocks away...

Well, I went and dood it... Went to an auction, in an area with a bunch of valleyS, halfway to york. Won't do advertising for this Company, whose motto is auctions done Right, or somEthing similar... Bought a Machpro 330, around $4150, With the tax and the fees on top of the tax. They took My Check, so at least I didn't have to pay 3% more fer usinG a caRd! CallEd a friend Who lives close, he brought a trailer the 30 miles, then we waited about 1-1/2 hours for Curly, Larry and Moe to load it, finally I turned the power on, "drove" it on the trailer using the starter, and pushing on the levers, to inch it the last 8' or so. strapped it down, and got it to his place, switched trucks on the trailer, and I drove it home just in time for rush hour... I think the co logo should be changed to we do auctions right, loading, not so much... Here is a video of something similar, pretty close to what I got...

I was viewing the auction online a bit, and amazed, (disgusted?) At the amount of imported stuff. What percentage of the day was spent selling items and the container they came in?

  7. DIYDAVEJunior Member#8

I didn't notice. I was there for the one Item, I knew it was a chinese loader. I wanted something small enough to fit on my small trailer, but can't afford 15 to 30K for an American unit. Auction was in a 50 x 50 room, and there were 8-9 actual physical bidders, and all of the internet bidding. Largely 3-7 items (same things) up for choice bid, first choice had the option to buy all at the winning bid... I figgered I paid $400 more as the first bidder, but for got it for $400 less than the average of the last sale. I'd hazard a guess that 90% of the stuff sold was imported. Containers were sold, too. Way I figgered it, If I waited till next month, it all might cost 11% more...

Hope it works out for you Dave. I'd love to see some pictures of it, and hear a review once you have used it some. And $4,000 isn't enough money for a domestic used version.

Click to expand... Have a local auction house here that sells all that chinese junk. The only thing I'm interested in are the containers they were shipped over in. Each auction they have several 40' containers with the side doors usually one trippers. Last auction those boxes went for $5-6K which wasn't that bad, didn't buy one though.

I would like a 20' container with the doors in the side. I'd like to put tires and some big rigging in it beside my shop

For what its worth, I got it untarped, started it (hadda dump a shot of gas down the carb), pulled it off a the trailer, and commenced to playing with it. Took a scoop of sawdust up to the compost pile, then grabbed a shovel, and went down to the y in the road, where the asphalt is thin, to scoop up the busted up pieces of thin top-coat that the snow plowing of last month produced. Scooped and shovelled up a full bucket (1st of 4), meandered up the hill to the dump site, dumped the bucket, turned around and as I started fwd, I heard a pop sound, looked down, and the RH track had hopped off a the rear idler and drive sprocket... Oh well, figgered I hadda learn how to do it sometime, Took the borrowed trailer up to the top of the hill then went down back, gathered some tools, popped off the access door, track adjusts with a threaded piece, with a hex head on the very end, and a big (1-1/4") lock nut. Another trip for the right wrench, while I was there, scooped up the bottle of never-seize, and a 5/8 gearwrench. loosened up the bolt, all the way, backed off the locknut, daubed some NS on the threads, then popped the track off. I had seen a video of how to put the tracks on, where they used 3 or 4 1/2" or 5/8" steel dowels inserted in the track, and then backed the track on, using those dowels to self pry the track on. Not having the stock handy, and not wanting to make another trip for tools, I used a field expedient, a 10", 12", and 15" adjustable wrenches, inserted in the chain hollows... Worked like a charm, tightened up a little tighter than it was, then repeated the loosening, NS treatment, and tightening on the other side. About 1/16" longer than it was, finished the job at hand, Lot of walking, today, but I learned what works and how. Screwy joystick control compared to my ASV RC 30, real slow, gotta watch how you turn tight, but so far I can cope! Put about 2 hrs on the clock. In the video, above, look at the black access door with 2 bolts, that is where alla the action takes place!

Had it out in the snow, today. Hadda move it anyway, to get the ASV out to do the drive. Slicker than snot on a doorknob, once you figger out the wacky controls. Used it mainly to clear the sidewalk down to the chicken coop and the parking area next to the house, its just skinny enough to plow the whole width of the sidewalk, without digging up grass along the edges...

  17. DIYDAVEJunior Member#18

Ordered 5 teeth for it from Digger's supply, came to $104.00 with shipping... Gonna try digging up the chickens' yard this week without them this week, though...

Went out with ut, today, fell into a trap of my own making... Track pulled off, I opened the window to get a look, jam nut had backed off. I had just made a rig to hold the 2 track wrenches, the 1-1/4 jam nut wrench, and the 16 mm bolt gearwrench. Thought it would be a cinch to loosen the track, pop the track back on and button it up again, boy was I wrong! Had the gearwrench on to loosen the track, here's the picture: As you loosen the track, it pushes the bolt backwards, thus pushing the wrench toward the rear side of the window. If you go 2 clicks too far on the wrench, its forced up to the side of the window, and unremovable! Ended up taking a dremel-type tool, cutting my brand new 16 mm gearwrench off about 1-1/2" from the ratchet end, removing that, before I could proceed. I think the next mod I make to it will be to cut that $!*& rear side of the window longer, and fab a new window plate, cause the existing window bolt is exactly in the way! Grr, rant over...
