Let's do diagonal, same thing. But then all of a sudden cut 1 inch cut 3, 4. Gps wasn't working right that day. So clearly he couldn't grade without it. Job security for me for now. What I don't like about it, is you don't have to learn the skill to operate the machine like these older guys who could hold grade by sight and feel. Technology can have advantages but as it takes over tasks, people become dumber. The guys that ran cable machines before they had hydraulics, those guys had skill! Look at the thread Old Conventionals At Work. That is skill. I have respect for people like that. Use technology where it makes sense, but teach skills also. I guess it is hard to teach skills if people don't care to learn.

John C.Super User#24 Autonomous will work 24 hours a day, doesn't call in sick, and may not stop for holidays. It doesn't abuse the machine and will just stop when something goes wrong. There are no benefit payments and no industrial insurance. Every cycle it completes will be at 100% efficiency in moved material and energy usage.

It is the future wether we like it or not. Now the rate of deployment is debatable however the end result is not.
