I'm pretty sure my hydraulic oil temperature sensor is failing—it's reading 70-80 degrees hotter than it should be. After I started it this morning following overnight downtime, the engine temperature and torque converter temps were pegged on the left side of the gauges, but the hydraulic oil temperature was sitting just past the middle. I checked the diagnostics and saw 173 degrees right after startup.

I called Holt Cat today to ask for the part number. The guy thought it might be 234-5013, but he couldn't tell me where it's mounted on the machine.

Does anyone have a parts diagram showing where this sensor sits, or can you confirm if 234-5013 is the right part number?

From what I've found, 234-5013 is actually the transmission temperature sensor, not the hydraulic oil one. The hydraulic oil temperature sensor you need is 256-6453, and it's mounted on the RH fender at position #177. Make sure you've got the right part by checking the wire colors and numbers.

Great news – the sensor was indeed the problem. I ordered a replacement, pulled a vacuum on the hydraulic tank, got the new sensor in, and everything's running properly again. Now I've got to sort out some issues with the slope assist, so I'll open up a separate thread for that.
