Installing track pads question

I removed a track pad to install a sprocket weight. The bolts looked fine with fresh oil on them, so I added some 30wt oil to the threads and under the head. They slid right through the pad and rail, but I noticed the holes don't line up perfectly. Should I loosen everything and adjust the pad so the holes match up exactly with the rail holes?

Long as the pad lines up parallel with the ones in front and behind it, you should be fine.

Yeah, I checked that too. I was able to finger-tighten all the bolts until they got snug enough that I needed a socket to turn them further. I've seen videos of people installing track pads on big track machines with them sitting horizontally under the sprocket, and it seems like that would throw the holes off a bit as well.

As long as the mating surfaces are clean, you should be fine.

The pad was tight when I pulled it off and the bolts and nuts looked fresh. Still oily too. I didn't have my torque wrench handy so I snugged them down with an 18" bar and figured around 70 ft./lbs. Nice and tight but I didn't crank too hard on it. Then I gave them another third of a turn. With a 2' snipe I managed just over 1/3rd of a turn before they wouldn't go any further. I reckon they should be solid but I'm going to keep an eye on them while I'm running the loader and doing some work.
