Currently @ 140% soot load. Can't regen with cab switch or IDC6 or jaltest, because the SCR tests get stuck at "dosing valve check". DEF injector was crystallized completely, and cleaned by soaking in hot water Initially, I could get to manual regen screen on my IDC6, but get stuck at "dosing valve check". After cleaning injector, IDC6 says Now, on jaltest, I'm simply stuck at "dosing valve check". Only codes Is "dosing valve check" looking for a slight pressure drop when test cycling the DEF injector? Why is it plural? Are there multiple "valves"? Is like a Caterpillar where it equivalent to a level 3, requiring a factory password?
L60H cant regen due to SCR status

BullittJunior Member#4 Is that coolant and pressure diff sensor code active? Not familiar with that software, but if those are active they could very well be blocking the regen logic. I've had countless issues with Jaltest and Volvo CE that just worked using PTT. The Jaltest interface actually does work with PTT if you look into going down that road.
heymccallSenior Member#5 Cleared codes upon arrival. Everything stayed gone save for the dpf codes. The others were inactive just as you see, before code clearing. So now, just the dpf codes.
pumkinheadJunior Member#6 can you reset the soot level and run a forced regen? did you do a def dosing test after cleaning the injector? on a separate note how do you like the IDC6 and jaltest, which do you prefer and why and hows it compare to oem software. im looking a potentially getting one or the other
heymccallSenior Member#7 Back again. Able to force regen, but... Temps never get over 270°C, even after 10 minutes. I don't see a hydrocarbon injector anywhere on this thing. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
pumkinheadJunior Member#8 does not have hydrocarbon injector, uses late post injection
heymccallSenior Member#9 I've come to verify that, yes, regen is fuel controlled via post combustion injection at the 6 fuel injectors. I just don't know what else to inspect/ clean/ replace to allow regen temps to climb. Clean, fresh fuel/ air filters are in there. Runs well. Just goes into derate with high soot load, and forced regens never get hot enough.
pumkinheadJunior Member#10 are there any active codes? can you download a regen report? have you cheeked the inlet throttle restricting valve?
Mr. WrenchSenior Member#11 This is just kind of a guess, but it seems like some machines I have worked on when the soot/ash level gets to high they do not have enough flow to be able to get hot enough to regen. Seems like they have to be taken apart and cleaned/baked at that point. Maybe someone else can confirm if that is right.
heymccallSenior Member#12 That's where I'm leaning now. Take and bake.
Mr. WrenchSenior Member#13 Depending on the machine the DPF is not very hard to get out sometimes. Have it cleaned and you are starting with a fresh one. Just be sure to reset the DPF counter and/or ash load whatever your diagnostic tool has.
pumkinheadJunior Member#14 whats your dpf differential pressure
heymccallSenior Member#15 pumkinhead said: whats your dpf differential pressure Click to expand... During regen
pumkinheadJunior Member#16 I doubt your dpf Is plugged, did you run a def injector dosing test after you cleaned it? And was the mixing pipe also crystallized, what where the initial codes before cleaning
Truck ShopSuper User#17 EGT sensors DOC/DPF have been known to show cold although it's at temp forcing ecm to stop regen. Same with NOX and pressure sensors. But have had issues with plugged DEF causing low flow even though pressure sensor showed low, but that's on a Daimler product too. May have zero to do with your issue.
Ben WitterJunior Member#18 There is a self check of the DEF dosing system at the startup of a parked or service regeneration as the DEF dosing is used to cool the SCR assembly. If this self check does not pass it will not continue through the process. As asked have you performed a DEF dosing test? You will need to diagnose and correct the issue with the DEF dosing system before you can proceed. Also as stated most active engine or ACM faults will inhibit a regeneration. DPF differential pressures do not generally start to cause issues until above 5-7kpa
heymccallSenior Member#19 New injector passed dosing tests. SCR now goes into standby. And regen initiates, but, never gets hot enough.
funwithfuelSenior Member#20 Just a thought. Have had issues in the past. Inlet throttle valve. Remove the pipe and push the butterfly open with your finger. Quickly pull away. The blade should close quickly and almost bounce as it closes. Inlet throttle has a lot to do with generating heat, apart from post injection. Are you still showing 140% or higher on soot load?
