ok I back at messing with my old grader I "think" my earlier issue where leaning wheels just tilt at free will and tire bolt backs out has to be a hyd leak pass control valve (I think) letting wheels tilt randomly. I also need to repack my slide cylinder later after this issue but if anyone has the rebuild kit number now be great. I am trying to Identify my Galion 503L #8 control spool valve part number in case I need replace it OR perferablly a rebuild kit? see attched pictures of spool vlaves If anyone has a part break down diagram with part numbers for the spool valve that would be awesome to get

I am wondering if the wheels lean over a period of days? Mine has done it for years even after re-packing the lean cylinder due to leakage. It should not be a problem operating if this is the case. I do not know what you mean about the "tire bolt backs out" in your message. How about a bit more info on that?? Thanks, Clyde in VA

Clyde sorry about that , the front tire has ONE bolt with washer under it in the center of the hub that holds the wheel and bearings on the shaft. basically cone bearings inner & outer and the washer & bold holds bearing in which holds tire on. Unfortunately it kept backing out an lets the tire fall off. my front wheels are leaning back and forth continuously an I have to use the spool valve lever the whole time or wheels lean max to one side or other then randomly change. yes I was using it like that but its a pain to have the wheel keep falling off in middle of road ......... it be honest at this point if I thought i could weld that bolt to shaft I would , but it is probably better to fix the cause of the issue I don't think my lean cylinder is leaking currently at least, the packing seems dry still , I do not see any kind of checkvalve in the hyd lines between cylinder and spool valve . My best "guess" is there is some type of O-ring or bypass inside the spool valve in the cab that lets it leak past unless I manual hold/work spool valve. The only diagrams I have seen show spool valve location but no break down drawing of valve itself. "I am wondering if the wheels lean over a period of days?" if yours takes days its great lol I'll be generous a say mine takes no more then five minutes and front wheels are at max lean (parked or driving)

Attached are pictures of the parts for both your problems. A real expert on here may suggest you get the wheel lean cylinder rebuilt in that it may be bypassing inside itself. I don't know for sure. Have you tried cleaning the front wheel bolt real good and using a strong Loctite product? I am able to get parts thru Komatsu Dealer, if I give them the part number. They are not able to look them up. Attached are pictures and parts list of the front wheel and also the valve bank. Good luck!

Here is the last diagram/parts list for the problem areas. I can only post 4 at a time.

Cylde that's awesome thank you !! the valve body break down and parts numbers is what I needed, it looks like O-ring 15,18,19,20 I am betting one or more of them is gone . now I know what I am looking at an parts number I start looking for those O-rings thanks again huge help yes one day I'll rebuild all the cylinders , but probably start with my mold board slide cylinder as it it the only wet one and it pour out if I slide the mold board so it is probably first one lol As far as the bolt I have tried JB weld and blue lock tight , I have a new bottle or red lock tight will try next. I do think if I fix that spool valve body the tire shouldn't slam to max lean so hard and bolt will have a better chance of staying put but we'll see

Glad to be of help. How about getting a brand new bolt before putting the Loctite on this time and clean well. Good luck with the repairs!

Clyde, I found nearest Komatsu dealer is over in Memphis and got to drive over there for appointment Tuesday going to try to stop in , trying to put together parts list now I've been looking over the diagrams an think I going to listen to the real expert on here and get a rebuild kit for the leaning wheel cylinder (probably get mold board slide cylinder kit to if I can find) looking at parts list number 2 leaning wheel cylinder it say see page 70 , was wondering if page 70 has parts diagram an number for the lean cylinder seal kit? also by chance do you have seal part number for moldboard sliding cylinder? I must have a different manual then you do mine only goes 40 something pages

No, I do not have the number of the seal kit. I think it does list individual parts numbers. I always take mine,, which has included both you mention, to a reputable Hydraulic Shop.

Here is a picture of the sideshift cylinder. There seems to be 2 styles.

Ask for Chris Burke at Power Equipment. Tell him Todd Carpenter said hi. They should treat you right. For the seal kit, head over to Memphis Bearing on Winchester. They are very good with seals and should be able to get you fixed up. I'd take the cylinders, pistons and old seals just to be sure.
